About Us

Ben

Born and raised in the Southeastern United States, as a boy, Ben loved nothing more than holing up in a huge loft for IMG_3328hours of reading or wandering the farm with only a dog for company. He now calls the wooded hills and cragged coasts of Maine his stateside home.

He has been a farmhand, dishwasher, baker, camp counsellor, barista, warehouse worker, and teacher. At university, he dabbled in art while studying philosophy, history, theology, and English literature. He enjoys photography, folk music, local food, and a good cup of coffee or tea.

A sinner by birth and saved by the grace of God, Ben endeavours above all to be a follower of King Jesus. He currently teaches English and Bible in Taipei, Taiwan.

Ben takes photos for the blog, helps direct Rachel Kaye’s flighty thought processes, and writes the occasional blog post.

Rachel Kaye

IMG_3337As a child, Rachel Kaye always promised herself she would never forget what it was like to be young. As she has grown older and more mature, she has also grown more childlike. Quick with tears and laughter, Rachel Kaye endeavours to embrace life in all its joys, pains, and inconsistencies.

She has renovated houses, waited on customers at various restaurants and coffee shops, nannied, and worked many other odds and ends jobs throughout the years. Most recently, she taught first and second grade at an international school in Taipei. Currently, she works from home as a freelance writer. At university, she studied English and creative writing. Her dream is to someday write books for children.

Rachel Kaye is from a long line of hardy country folk hailing from the chilly northeast. Born and raised in Maine, Rachel Kaye both loves to travel and loves knowing she will always have a place to call home.

At heart, a wayward, wandering, restless soul in need of a savior, Rachel Kaye looks to Jesus, the author and finisher of her faith, to direct her path.

Rachel Kaye writes most of the content for the blog and maps out goals and dreams into big picture plans.
